It is our desire to help the community where the orphanage is and not just serve the people behind the walls of the orphanage.  We also want the orphanage to be something that the community is proud of and something that is theirs.

We don't want to go in, build an orphanage and leave.  We want the Togolese people to take ownership of it.  We want to give them the tools and the support now to get something started that they can foster for years to come.  That said, we will always be involved but we don't want it to be an orphanage started and run by "Westerners."  Our desire is that it will be a safe place that children can call "home".  We pray that it will be a place children will feel the Lord's love and provision.  We pray it will be a place the community takes pride in and a place where the children realize their worth and purpose.

Update 8/23/16

Thanks to the generous donations from the wonderful band SHEL and their wonderful fans, the

second building is nearly complete!  We are very excited to have more space for the children!

Thanks for your interest in this project!  Our goal is to grow this orphanage at a manageable pace with the end goal of self-sustainability.  There are currently 17 children housed at Grace Orphanage, and we have a waiting list of 12 more.  We have one main building, and the second building is being completed as we speak!

JAMES 1:27 (nasb)

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
